About
AI shouldn't cost firms their data.
EdgeLex is built on a simple thesis: a firm can have modern AI leverage and keep control, privacy, and sovereignty. You shouldn't have to choose.
Our mission
The legal profession is being handed a generation of AI tools built as cloud black boxes. They are capable — and they ask firms to send privileged matters and client data to servers the firm doesn't control, processed by models the firm can't see or govern. For a profession whose entire foundation is confidentiality and duty of care, that trade is backwards.
EdgeLex inverts it. The firm is the authority layer: it owns identity, permissions, data, the audit trail, and the AI's evidence gates. The AI runtimes are adapters that work under the firm's policy and never own the firm's data. The whole platform can run on infrastructure the firm controls.
The founder's story
EdgeLex is built by a practicing attorney who is also a developer. The product is the one we wanted to exist: as capable as the cloud tools, but architected so the firm keeps control. Every capability on this site is real and verified against the codebase — we'd rather understate than overclaim.
Design partners
We're working with a small number of firms as founding design partners. If keeping client data inside your perimeter while still getting real AI leverage is something you've wanted, we'd like to talk.
